S. I. Wells

During his career, S. I. Wells worked in foreign diplomacy, public broadcasting, the Federal court system and public health. He collaborated with some of the great minds of his day and spent many hours thinking about the United States and its issues as he traveled the the country to meet with and learn from real people living real lives. He remains a senior columnist for Stay Thirsty Magazine. 

Ten years ago, Wells moved to a small farm in southwest Iowa, known as flyover country, with his wife of 45 years. The farm has been in his family since the Civil War and has ancestral memories that mirror the history of the United States. 

Not a farmer by profession, he lets his neighbors farm the acres in exchange for fresh vegetables and treats throughout the year. Also residing on the farm are a pig named Winston Churchill, a cow named Bessie, a wiener dog named Geronimo and a cat named Trouble. 

Wells now devotes his days to writing heartfelt stories about ordinary people with strong values and grit who wind up overcoming the challenges life throws at them with dignity and grace. 

Wells' first novel, Special Dispensations, debuted as the #1 Chicago Legal Thriller on Amazon in September 2012.

His second book, 30 Words - That Will Change Your Life, was published in January 2018.

Wells' third book, 21 Big Ideas: From Recessions to Russians, was published in August 2018 and became the #1 New Release on Amazon in Political Freedom and in 90-Minute Politics & Social Sciences in its first week and the #1 New Release in Commerce in its third week.

Wells' fourth book, A Christmas Hometown Reunion, was published in November 2023.
